Current viewers, peak and unique viewers
Current viewers describe the audience at one moment. The peak is the highest observed value during the session. Unique viewers describe distinct people identified during the observed period; they are not the sum of points on a curve.
Hypothetical example: a session can peak at 80 concurrent viewers and receive 300 unique viewers over the broadcast. That does not mean 300 people watched at the same time.
These measures depend on accessible data and collection coverage. An aggregate curve alone cannot precisely reconstruct each person’s journey or viewing time.
Likes are interactions, not people
One person can send several likes during a live. A total of 5,000 likes does not mean 5,000 interested people. Look at their pace and when they increase.
Likes per minute help compare sessions of different lengths. They are neither a retention rate nor a follower conversion rate.
Comments and shares
Comments count messages, not necessarily distinct commenters. A discussion between a few people can produce many messages.
A comment spike can accompany a question, debate or technical issue. Check the context before assuming it is positive. Shares are another interaction; they do not prove how many new viewers subsequently arrived.
Gifts, coins and donors
Gift count measures observed gifts; unique donors count distinct people who sent a gift. One person can send several gifts and account for a large part of the total value.
Coin value does not directly equal your net income in euros. Use the payout information in your TikTok account for the amounts actually paid.
Review gift value and its distribution together. A high total from one donor is different from the same total spread across many people.
New followers and comparisons
New followers observed during the live signal interest in your account. To connect this with content, check when follows arrive and what is happening in the broadcast.
Do not automatically divide new followers by peak viewers and call it a conversion rate. The peak is an instantaneous measure; follows accumulate throughout a session. A useful ratio needs a numerator and denominator covering a consistent population and period.
A simple starting point
Choose a goal and no more than three numbers for your next live. For audience participation, watch viewers, comments and likes. To understand gifts, watch their value, unique donors and timing.
With LiveSpark, review the available data and note one observation to check in your next live. Connect numbers to specific moments rather than chasing every indicator.
